Indeed. And I enjoy nibbling at his doughnut ears.
Those little zigzaggy lines above his eyes are those tiny blue veins you get. A curious choice for inclusion, and a lovely detail.
I've read many novels, and I can't think of a single character whose little blue veins were given mention: but we read so often of hair colour, eye colour, lip shape, etc.
Which is something I particularly love about kids: they're not conditioned to see only the obvious; they're not fettered by convention and cliché.
Shame on us sightless adults!
